R&D Tax Incentive strategy and technical claims for Australian innovators across science, agribusiness and technology.

Hamish leads the R&D Tax Incentive program at Prime Partners. His work covers the technical side of the claims, the strategic positioning around them, and the ongoing relationship with the regulator that comes with the territory.
Most of the businesses Hamish works with are doing genuinely new work without realising it counts. A grower trialling a different irrigation method, a manufacturer reworking a process, a software team solving a problem with no off-the-shelf answer. His job is to recognise that work for what it is, then build a claim that holds up. That means understanding the technical detail of what the client is actually doing, not just the numbers that sit on top of it.
He works across the full life of a claim, from the first eligibility conversation through to documentation, lodgement, and any questions AusIndustry or the ATO raise afterwards. Clients who have been burnt by overpromised claims elsewhere tend to value the straight read he gives them, including the times the honest answer is that the work does not qualify. The R&D program rewards substance, and Hamish would rather tell a client where they genuinely stand than dress up a claim that will not survive scrutiny.
Outside of the office, you will find Hamish on the football pitch, exploring a new corner of the world, or attempting to learn a new language.
The full program, from eligibility assessment through claim preparation to AusIndustry and ATO engagement. The technical depth the work actually requires.
Documenting innovation work in the language the regulator needs. The detail that turns genuine R&D into a defensible position.
How clients structure their R&D investment, what to track, what to claim, and where the program fits inside the broader growth plan.
R&D claims turn up in every industry, and Hamish works across all of them. Wherever the work sits, the technical case and the conversation with the regulator are the same job.
